SRC PRODUCT WARRANTY CERTIFICATE

Following is a summary of your warranties. Please refer to this certificate should service be necessary.

  • 1 YEAR PARTS
  • 1 YEAR LABOR ON SERIES l, ll & ll+
  • 90 DAY LABOR ON FIELD INSTALLATIONS

LABOR WARRANTY ON FACTORY INSTALLS

Applies to all SERIES I Displays and all Series II & II+ Factory assembled models only. The one year period begins when your equipment is started up. If your start-up is delayed for some reason, please let us know right away. Any part under this warranty that are determined by SRC to be defective within this time period, is limited to the repair or replacement, including reasonable labor charges, of the defective part. Prior authorization from SRC is required. Please call our service department at 1-800-521-0398 to arrange for warranty service. If you require emergency service during nights or weekends, and the service is determined to be in-warranty, you will be responsible for only those charges that are over and above the regular service time rates. See the reverse side of this certificate for specific exclusions to the labor warranty. All factory coordinated field installations are covered by a 90 day labor warranty. Labor warranties do not extend to customers who either install or sub-contract the installation services of the equipment themselves.

1 YEAR PARTS WARRANTY

Applies to all mechanical components of your equipment, except for those items specifically excluded on the reverse side of this certificate. Should SRC determine that any mechanical component is defective through normal use, we will provide a replacement part at no charge to you, F.O.B. factory. We may require the defective component to be returned for inspection prior to credit being issued. We will provide complete instructions when contacted. If we instruct your local service technician to replace the part from a local supply house, we will reimburse the wholesale cost of the part when furnished with the defective part and a copy of the wholesale invoice.

5 YEAR COMPRESSOR MOTOR WARRANTY

Your original compressor motor is warranted to be free of defects in both manufacturing and workmanship for a period up to 5 years. The replacement motor compressor shall be identical to the model of the motor compressor being replaced. Additional charges which may be incurred throughout the substitution of other than identical replacements are not covered by this warranty.

Compressor failure within the first 12 months:
Handled as an "even exchange" (free of charge) through the local factory-authorized wholesaler

Compressor failure beyond the first 12 months:
Contact SRC immediately. SRC will advise if the replacement compressor will be shipped from SRC or will authorize your contractor to purchase the compressor from a local wholesaler. If authorized to pick-up locally, SRC will reimburse the "wholesale" cost of the new compressor motor. Fax the wholesaler copy of the invoice (without mark-up and freight) to SRC for reimbursement.

Note: Motor compressor exchanges or replacements done in the field shall be made through the nearest factory-authorized wholesaler of the motor compressor manufacturer. No freight shall be allowed for transportation of the motor compressor to and from the wholesaler. The replacement compressor is not covered under the original equipment warranty. A new extended warranty can be purchased at the time of replacement. Instructions will be given by SRC as to the disposition of the defective compressor.

EXCLUSIONS TO FACTORY WARRANTIES

APPLIES TO ALL WARRANTIES
  1. Adequate, uninterrupted power must be available to match the unit's electrical specifications
  2. Adequate air or water flow must be provided. Air-cooled condensers must be kept clean.
  3. Tampering with factory control settings will void warranty.
  4. Damage due to abuse, neglect, alteration, misuse, accident, damage during transit or a nonfactory installation, fire, floods, acts of God or other events beyond SRC's control will not be covered.
  5. SRC is not responsible for economic loss, profit loss, or special, indirect or consequential damages, including without limitation, losses or damages arising from product spoilage claims whether or not on account of refrigeration failure. We encourage you to pursue an independent insurance policy to offer protection for these possibilities if desired.
  6. There are no other warranties, express, implied or stated, except the one year labor warranty on Series l, 11 & ll+ models, 90 day labor warranty on field installations, 1 year parts warranty and 5 year compressor warranty as described on this document. These warranties are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, including implied warranty and merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. There are no warranties that extend beyond the description on the face hereof.
  7. This warranty is not transferable and applies only in favor of the original purchaser/user at the original installation site and does not apply to equipment which has been subject to removal from original installation site, disconnected and reconnected in another location. Any such transfer or assignment shall void the warranties herein made and shall void all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  8. In order to exercise this warranty, the buyer must notify SRC immediately upon knowledge of a problem. Failure to notify SRC voids this warranty.

1 YEAR AND 90 DAY LABOR WARRANTY ON FACTORY INSTALLS
Routine temperature adjustments, normal preventative maintenance items, such as cleaning coil surfaces, or any of the items in lines #1 through #4 causing a failure will not be a covered repair.

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING "SELF-INSTALLED EQUIPMENT"
If you have purchased equipment on a material only basis, and are coordinating your own installation, there will be no labor coverage in the event of an equipment failure. The I year parts warranty and 5 year compressor warranty will still remain in force, but the labor to replace a defective part will not be covered, regardless of the time at which it was discovered.

1 YEAR PARTS WARRANTY

  1. No gases, such as Freon, CO2 or nitrogen are considered a mechanical part under warranty. Brazing charges and material, recovery, evacuation and related service charges are considered to be labor.
  2. Light bulbs, gaskets, sweeps, glass shelving and any other normal "wear and tear" item are not covered by the parts warranty.
  3. No labor charges associated with the diagnosis and replacement of a defective part are covered, regardless of when the failure occurs. The only exception is when a one year or 90 day labor warranty is in effect on a factory installation (See reverse side for a full explanation).

5 YEAR PARTS WARRANTY
  1. Any additional parts required in the compressor replacement procedure are not covered, unless the failure occurs within the 1 year parts warranty period.
  2. All labor charges associated with the diagnosis and replacement of the defective part are not covered, regardless of when the failure occurs. The only exception is when a one year or 90 day labor warranty is in effect on a factory installation. See reverse side for a full explanation.
